Making Games Perfectly Accessible: A Look at Our Accessibility Features

Hey adventurer!

At Grand Star, we believe every hero—no matter their eyesight, screen size, or bold-text preferences—deserves to enjoy the journey. That's why we've sprinkled a little extra magic (and lots of care) into making our game more accessible and comfortable for all players.

Let's take a peek behind the enchanted curtain and see what we've done!

🔍 Display Zoom: Everything Gets a Glow-Up

If you use Display Zoom on your iPhone or iPad (under Settings > Display & Brightness), you know how helpful it is when everything on your screen gets just a little bigger and easier to tap.

Good news: our game fully supports Display Zoom.

  • Buttons, icons, and text all scale smoothly
  • No broken layouts, blurry UI, or clipped edges
  • The entire interface adjusts just as you'd expect

Not every game handles this well — many don't scale at all with Display Zoom. But Grand Star does, giving you a clearer, more comfortable experience from start to finish.

🅱️ Bold Text = Bold Adventure

Prefer your fonts strong and confident? So do we.

Enable Bold Text in your device's accessibility settings, and our game will follow suit — enhancing contrast and making everything easier to read, from menus to item labels to full dialogue lines.

It's a small change that makes a big difference, especially on smaller screens or in bright environments.

💬 Larger Texts, Larger Tales

If you've cranked up your system text size for easier reading, you'll feel right at home in Grand Star.

We proudly support Larger Text, including the biggest accessibility sizes:

  • Dialogues and item descriptions scale beautifully, even past 200%
  • Layouts adapt to prevent overlaps or awkward cut-offs
  • Text remains clear and readable, even in epic proportions

While a few interface elements are still catching up, the majority of in-game text supports resizing — especially where it matters most for storytelling and interaction.

Why It Matters

Most mobile games offer no accessibility support at all. They ignore text scaling, break under system zoom, and often use non-dynamic layouts that can't adapt to user preferences.

We decided to do things differently.

  • Our interface is built natively, which allows us to hook directly into iOS's accessibility settings.
  • We prioritize readability, usability, and clarity, even at large text sizes.
  • And even though our accessibility support isn't 100% perfect yet, it's already miles ahead of what's considered standard in the mobile games industry.

✨ What's Next in Our Spellbook

We're not stopping here. Coming soon to your magical device:

  • Dynamic text scaling in even more places
  • Better button labels and helpful hints
